Litter Mermaid Book Cover Contest

This is a book cover I made for the original Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson.

My concept behind "embercede" is as such:
An ember comes from a dying flame but still has the power to start up a new fire (as in the ability to love again); and cede which is to sacrifice. There are three other book covers I made for this series, but this is the only one with an animal or two in it. The other books I worked on were Peter Pan and A Christmas Carol.

I felt this was appropriate for the little mermaid as she sacrificed so much to love the prince though he didn't love her in return. In the end she sacrificed her life to let him love another.
